About Alicia

Owner, Certified Diamond Grader, and Designer

Alicia brings more than two decades worth of industry experience and creativity to her clients. Since she was a child, Alicia was surrounded by jewelry growing up in her family's jewelry business, Diamond Design Jewelers. She spent her youth roaming the halls of the Clark Building, which was once the jewelry hub of Pittsburgh. At the young age of 13, she received her diamond grading certification and soon after began creating her first pieces of fine jewelry.

In 2000, Alicia pursued a bachelor’s degree at Point Park University in her beloved home city of Pittsburgh. During school, she continued to work for her  family's jewelry business, specializing in custom design work, sales, styling consultation, appraisal work, and marketing. Her entrepreneurial spirit pushed her to invest her own money in the family’s first ever custom CAD design machine in 2012.

 

About Scott

Co-Owner, Master Craftsman and Designer

Scott began his metal smith career in 2005 as an aircraft mechanic working on medivac helicopters. Scott’s exceptional skills accelerated him to become a Metal Fabrication Technician during his first year. Six years later, Scott was promoted to creating custom composites, adding to his metal smith repertoire. He then ran his own shop and became a mentor to others seeking to learn metal smith and composition skills. His talents and hard work paid off as he later became manager of a team of mechanics and fabricators.

During the last three years, Scott spent his spare time working with Alicia at her family's jewelry business. He learned how to take his metal smith skills from aviation to convert them to fine jewelry – and to his surprise, it applied perfectly! In November 2017, he said goodbye to his aviation career and started working full time with Alicia to realize their dream of owning their own jewelry business.

 

How They Met

Alicia and Scott met at a charity fundraiser in 2013. Their romance quickly bloomed and after only a week, they both knew they had met “The One.” A year later, on the exact day the met, they had a small and intimate wedding ceremony at a local winery, surrounded by their loved ones. And yes, Alicia did offer some strong hints about her own dream engagement ring!

In addition to working together, Alicia and Scott enjoy traveling, hiking, motocross, DIY projects and spending time outdoors with their teacup chiweenie, Maya. They both have a heavy interest in science and technology.

Jewelry by Alicia and Scott began in 2018 as an unexpected journey which started with one door closing and another opening.

Upon her parents’ retirement, the husband and wife team left the family business and ventured out on their own. They create custom jewelry made with precision and only the finest materials. They are truly passionate about their clients and are thankful to be a part of their journey through life. Many clients have known Alicia for years and have worked with her family for generations to fulfill their jewelry needs, all while forming lasting relationships. Alicia and Scott’s dedication to their craft and their clients shows through in every piece of jewelry.
